The Utah Health Policy Project is dedicated to creating quality, comprehensive, affordable health care coverage for all Utahns through research, policy advocacy, and civic engagement activities.

The Utah Health Policy Project is carrying out its mission through 4 main initiatives: Medicaid Policy Clinic, which hosts the Utah Medicaid Policy Partnership (a coalition of individuals and organizations who work together to make Utah's Medicaid program sustainable), Utah Business Group on Health (small business owners and employees who view affordable health care coverage as the key to economic development), Quality Watch (dedicated to the promotion of 'best practices' in the delivery of quality, cost-effective, and culturally appropriate health care), and the Utah Health Cooperative (our financially sustainable plan for universal health care coverage in Utah).

History:
Completing its first year as a non-profit, the Utah Health Policy Project has many successes to celebrate, including: Utah's 1st Preferred Drug List, which will save Medicaid millions of dollars; restored Medicaid dental and vision services for 61,000 adults; re-opened the CHIP program to serve 12,000 children (setting stage to re-authorize CHIP at the federal level); helped add 500,000 to the Primary Care Grants Program and many more.
