ARTE's goal is to provide excellence in entertainment, nurture new talent, and provide opportunities for those who theatre the arts to perform.
Description:
ARTE is a local non-profit theatre group specializing in Shakespeare and other epic performances. We generally perform at the Provo Castle Ampitheatre (behind the State Hospital).
This season we are performing a modern-day version of Julius Caesar from August 23 - September 15.
History:
ARTE (Actors' Reperatory Theatre Ensemble) has been performing Shakespeare and other fine shows since 1989. We have professional directors, actors and technicians who have taught or studied at the American Conservatory Theatre, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, National Theatre Conservatory, UC Santa Barbara, and Brigham Young University.
In keeping with its mission to educate and enlighten as well as to entertain, the Ensemble is an exciting mix of experienced theatre professionals collaborating with dedicated students.
Previous performances have included: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Taming of the Shrew, The Tempest, The Lion in Winter, Neil Labute's Dracula, The Three Musketeers, and Sweeney Todd in concert.
