To reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke
Description:
The impact goal of the American Heart Association is to reduce the incident of heart disease and stroke by 25% by the year 2010. We will accomplish this goal by supporting research, conducting community and professional education programs, and generating funds to support these AHA activities.
History:
The Utah Office of the AHA, founded in 1952, is a group of volunteers with professional staff support who are concerned about the public health threat of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The Utah Office part of the Western States Affiliate, including Utah, Nevada and California. Last year nationally the AHA spent more than $251 million for research support, public and professional education, and community programs.
