The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter. The Mountain Valley Chapter was chartered in 1917.

History:
Clara Barton founded the American Association of the Red Cross on May 21, 1881. She was a volunteer that cared for soldiers during the Civil War. From that experience she became committed to establishing an organization in the United States that would help alleviate human suffering.

Since I have begun working with the Red Cross, I have been able to use my teaching skills, my organizational skills, my people skills and my writing skills.
