We provide mental health services (therapy and counseling) to members of the the community with competence and compassion.
Description:
The BYU Comprehensive Clinic offers child therapy and counseling, adolescent therapy and counseling, couple therapy and counseling, family therapy and counseling, and individual therapy and counseling for members of the community at the nominal cost of $15.00 per session. Graduate students in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Clinical Psychology provide all services under faculty supervision. The Clinic also provides Psychological, Neuropsychological and Developmental assessments for $50-100. Typical assessment referral questions include: Intelligence Assessment, Learning Disability, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, assessment of functioning following brain trauma, and most other psychological or emotional disorders. The Clinic also offers psycho-educational groups each semester. Groups run from 4-12 weeks and usually meet once a week for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. The cost is generally a one-time fee of $15 per person. Space is limited and enrollment is on a first come first serve basis. Some examples of groups that are run at the Clinic are: Pre-Marital, Marriage Enhancement, Parenting, Divorce Adjustment for Children, Divorce Adjustment for Adults, and an Interpersonal Process Group.
History:
The BYU Comprehensive Clinic opened in 1980. The goal was to provide a single place for the human service disciplines on campus to practice. The Clinic provides mental health services to members of the local community.
