Food and Care Coalition, Provo

To provide food, clothing, housing, dental, education, work training and mentoring services to homeless and low-income persons residing in Utah County. The agency is structured in such a way as to provide daily service opportunities for community members to become engaged in programs and solutions to local poverty issues. In turn, clients are required to participate in services received including "banking" service hours in the exchange of services.

The Food & Care Coalition is the operational arm of Friends of the Coalition - a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

History:
The Coalition was officially formed in the fall of 1988, resulting from a grassroot movement led by community leaders, area church groups and concerned citizens. The agency fosters a service exchange environment based on personal participation and
