With the use of Federal funds, Housing Services helps low to moderate income families with down payment and closing cost assistance toward the purchase of their first home within Utah County.
Description:
Low to moderate income families can receive $ 5,000 or $ 15,000 loans toward down payment and closing cost assistance, depending on the age of the home being purchased. If the home is newer than 30 years, then a loan of up to $5,000 can be administered, and if the home is older than 30 years, then a loan of $15,000 can be administered. These loans are Zero interest, deferred payment loans that are forgiven over a 10 year period. The program name is, "Loan to Own."
History:
Housing Services has been processing loans for more than 10 years for Utah Valley Consortium of Cities and Counties who serves certain Cities within Utah County. Our goal is to assist low to moderate income families in their dream of purchasing their first home. The program was designed to help families move from being renters to owners by assisting them with down payment and closing cost assistance.
