Description:
The Utah Chapter supports services which includes increasing public awareness, funding for research and prevention and treatment of those with this degenerative disease of the brain.
Our Chapter is here to support families and caregivers who are overwhelmed with the 24-hour care needed by the patient and the financial costs of care. We provide a network of services and education in communities statewide that will support patients and their families.
Caregivers in the home and caregivers within residential settings want to do the best job possible for those in their charge. We support their efforts and provide options and knowledge to assist them through our services.

History:
The national Alzheimer's Association began in 1980 when Alzheimer's disease first became universally recognized.

The local Utah Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association began as a family support group in February 1982. In December 1983, it received chapter status with the national Alzheimer's Association and became a nonprofit organization in the state of Utah with a volunteer board of directors and governing bylaws.
