The Office of Public (OPG) uses volunteers for a number of services, including information, referral, and education about guardianship; assessments for guardianship; petitioning the court on his behalf for guardianship; alternatives to guardianship; and protecting and advocating for the rights and interests of incapacitated persons. In addition, volunteers can spend time just talking, listening, and reading to client. The OPG capacity to do these type of activities is limited due to lack of enough staff and resources.
