Each volunteer must complete the enrollment process.
The enrollment process consists of the steps described below. A volunteer is permitted to meet with a child only after these steps have been completed.

Orientation – You should have received this information when you called or before the interview. The purpose is to orient prospective volunteers to the agency’s mission, programs, and enrollment process.

Interview– Every volunteer is interviewed by our enrollment staff at our office or school. The purpose of the interview is to get to know you better, so we can select the most appropriate child from our waiting list based on your expectations, personality, and preferences. The interview will last approximately 15-20 minutes long.
2 References – We must obtain two letters of recommendation. The references should be a work supervisor/teacher or from any individual not related to you who you have known for at least one year. The agency will e-mail, fax, or print these forms for the reference you choose. NOTE: If you are a High School student your references must be from: 1) a teacher or school counselor who knows you well; 2) an ADULT employer, co-worker or friend who has known you for at least 2 years.
Background Check – Each volunteer is required to obtain a criminal history report. We can complete a national background check for you. The cost for the background check is $10 dollars.
