Utah County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (UCARES) is a non-profit organization made up of volunteer ham radio operators throughout the county who are called upon to provide communications services for everything from public service events to natural disasters.
The UCARES organization is nationally associated with the ARRL (http://arrl.net) and locally sponsored by the Utah County Sheriff's Department. The leadership of UCARES is provided by the Sheriff's Communications Auxiliary Team (SCATeam). Consequently, the UCARES
organization is activated through the Sheriff's Office for events that the Sheriff's Office needs our help with.
