| Description : |
|
The purpose of the Midwives College of Utah (MCU) is to educate and train midwives to provide safe, professional, affordable and personal maternity and general health care. MCU offers a curriculum that adheres to traditional, holistic, midwifery practice and current national guidelines. In addition to course work in antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and well-woman care, the program includes a variety of educational topics geared to enhance the professional development of the midwife so that she can better serve the health needs of women and their families.
A major purpose of the college is to make midwifery education available to students no matter where they live. To increase availability of the program and address the needs of students who are not able to study in residence, courses are offered via distance education. |
