The Arc of Utah has developed this training to help individuals with disabilities and their families prepare for and minimize the negative effects of the many changes ahead. "Bridge to the Future" discusses the various phases that occur during a child's life, and on into adulthood, and the ways to prepare individuals with disabilities and families to effectively advocate for their unique needs. The training is available starting November, 2005, to groups as well as on their website!
Training Topics include: The Early Years, Pre-School, School Years, School Transitions, Higher Education, Recreation, Employment, Housing, Social Security, Medicaid, Guardianship, Maturation, Behavior Management, Caregiving, Planning for the Future, Special Needs and Pooled Trusts, Record Keeping and Organization, Legal & Human Rights, Mental Health Issues
